Patient was educated on prehypertension as follows:

  1. Prehypertension is a condition when the blood pressure is above the normal levels, but not yet high enough to be classified as hypertensive.
  2. People with systolic readings between 120 and 139 are considered to have prehypertension.
  3. People with diastolic readings between 80 and 89 are considered to have prehypertension.
  4. People with prehypertension without any active measures to contain the blood pressure, can develop hypertension in about 5-year interval.
  5. Active life style changes can prevent progression of prehypertension to hypertension.
