Patient was educated on prehypertension as follows:
- Prehypertension is a condition when the blood pressure is above the normal levels, but not yet high enough to be classified as hypertensive.
- People with systolic readings between 120 and 139 are considered to have prehypertension.
- People with diastolic readings between 80 and 89 are considered to have prehypertension.
- People with prehypertension without any active measures to contain the blood pressure, can develop hypertension in about 5-year interval.
- Active life style changes can prevent progression of prehypertension to hypertension.
