Patient was educated on how to perform Kegel exercises as follows:

  1. Try stopping the urine flow midstream.
  2. If you succeed in stopping the urine flow midstream, you have located the correct group of muscles.
  3. These exercises are easy to perform and can be done anytime of the day, even lying down in the bed.
  4. Contract these muscles for a count a five and then, relax them for a count of five. Perform 10 such contractions as a set at a time.
  5. Perform 4 sets of these exercises in a day.
  6. After a week, increase the time of each contraction from a count of five to ten.
  7. Performing these exercises consistently will improve bladder and bowel control and decrease the frequency of incontinence episodes.
