Patient was educated on diastolic blood pressure as follows:

  1. Diastole is the phase of heartbeat, in which the heart relaxes, expands, and gets filled with blood.
  2. This blood filling the heart will be pumped out of the heart during systole. The blood pumped out of the heart will reach all the organs in the body, flowing through the various arteries.
  3. The blood pumped out of the heart, into the arteries, creates a pressure in the arteries.
  4. Diastolic blood pressure is the pressure created by the blood in the arteries, when the heart relaxes to accommodate blood filling.
  5. Any number on diastolic, less than 60 is considered low and more than 80 is considered high.
