Patient/caregiver was educated on complications of psoriasis as follows: Autoimmune diseases: Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune skin condition, in which body’s own protective immune system becomes defective and damages the skin cells. Individuals with history of psoriasis stand an increased risk for presentation with conditions due to altered immune system, such as, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and inflammatory bowel disease.
