Patient was educated on priming a Symbicort aerosol inhaler follows: When a new canister of Symbicort inhaler is being used, the canister may not deliver the correct amount of medication with the initial actuation of the inhaler. So, priming of the canister should be done, to make the Symbicort inhaler ready for use. Insert the Symbicort canister firmly into the mouthpiece. Symbicort and Mechanism of Action

Patient was educated on Symbicort and its mechanism of action as follows: Symbicort is a combination inhaler medication of Formoterol, a long acting bronchodilator and Budesonide, a steroid. The steroid Budesonide reduces the release of chemical mediators of inflammation and reduce the swelling of the airways. Budesonide also controls the mucus production in the airways.
