Patient/caregiver was instructed upon therapeutic use of viibryd as follows:

Major depression

• Viibryd increases the serotonin concentration and enhancing the actions of serotonin at the junction between nerve cells.
• This helps with contributing to relief of anxiety, control symptoms of depression, and promote feelings of well-being, contentment, and happiness.

Anxiety

• Promotion of serotonin actions in nervous system with viibryd contributes to improved relaxation, relief of anxiety, and promotion of feelings of contentment and happiness.
• So, viibryd can be used for mood enhancement and management of mild agitation and anxiety.

 Bipolar disorder

• Viibryd can be used along with antipsychotics, such as, olanzapine, for management of depressive symptoms in individuals with history of bipolar disorder.

Panic disorders and dysphoria

• By allaying the fears and calming down anxiety, viibryd can help with providing relief from premenstrual syndrome, panic disorders, and dysphoric states.

Obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCDs)

• Anxiety is one major component reinforcing obsessive compulsive behaviors. Viibryd, by reducing the anxiety, help to control the obsessive compulsive behaviors and thus can be used to manage the OCDs.
