Patient/caregiver was educated on precautions to be exercised while taking Fluticasone as follows:

  1. Take this medication as ordered by your physician. Do not change the dose on this medication without consulting your doctor.
  2. Mark the date when you started to use the new spray bottle. Keep track of the number of sprays used from the container, to have a timely refill ordered.
  3. Fluticasone should be cautiously administered to individuals with history of glaucoma. Retention of fluid, secondary to Fluticasone use, can result in elevated intraocular pressure and worsening of glaucoma. Observing compliance with any eye drops prescribed and periodical vision exam, for evaluation of the intraocular pressure and retinal changes, can help prevent progressive deterioration of vision. Closely follow for signs and symptoms of worsening glaucoma, such as, episodes of headache, elevated intraocular pressure, and acutely progressive diminishing vision. Report any such findings to your physician immediately, so that, an alternative plan of care could be considered and necessary changes made to your plan of care.
  4. Your physician could change the dose of Fluticasone, based on the relief obtained or side-effects developed. Maintain compliance with follow-up physician appointments, to update on the relief from symptoms. Be accommodative to the plan of dose changes, until you show an optimum response. Observe compliance with any periodical labs ordered.
