Patient/caregiver was educated on precautions to be exercised while taking digoxin as follows:

  1. Digoxin can induce some dizziness and make one drowsy. Digoxin use also carries risk for causing or aggravating anxiety and agitation, especially in individuals with history. Individuals can present with complaints such as, feeling low and depressed, anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, hallucinations, gross appetite changes, impulsiveness, agitation, and aggression. 2. Notify your doctor of any unresolved and worsening symptoms of congestive heart failure and/or arrhythmias, such as, fluid retention, pedal edema, shortness of breath, rapid uncontrolled heart rate, dizziness, and confusion, so that, your dosage on the medication could be revised.
  3. Take the medication dose at the same time, every day, to avoid forgetting the intake of medication.
