Patient was educated on symptoms of Celiac disease as follows:

  1. Abdominal fullness and pain, bloating of abdomen with production of gas, all symptoms of indigestion secondary to damaged small intestinal mucosa and compromised digestion of food material.
  2. Loss of fluid volume in stool, secondary to poor absorption of water due to damage to the villi.
  3. Pale skin and mucus membranes with increasing shortness of breath, secondary to anemia, due to poor absorption of iron in the small intestine.
  4. Muscle cramps and weakened bones due to poor absorption of calcium in the small intestine.
  5. Tingling and numbness, secondary to vitamin B-complex deficiency, due to poor absorption of vitamin B-complex in the small intestine.
