The patient/caregiver was educated on signs and symptoms of wandering behavior in Alzheimer’s patients as follows:

Alzheimer’s patients could present with the following signs & symptoms, which could indicate the wandering behavior of the individual.

  1. Frequently becoming restless with pacing or repetitive movements.
  2. Becoming anxious in crowded areas, such as, busy streets, grocery stores, and marketplaces.
  3. Having difficulty trying to realize their usual and familiar surroundings and locate places like their own restroom, bedroom, and kitchen.
  4. Coming home later than the usual time from a regular evening walk or stroll.
  5. Appearing totally lost in a new or changed environment.
  6. Individuals frequently talking about meeting obligations, such as, going to work when they have not been working for years or meeting some old friends who could be no more.
