Patient was educated that signs and symptoms of pulmonary valve stenosis can vary from mild to severe depending on the degree of stenosis and the extent of obstruction to the blood flow. Signs and symptoms are as follows:

  1. Dizziness and lightheadedness
  • Reduced output of blood from the right ventricle to the lungs for oxygenation can contribute towards an overall reduction in output of blood from the left ventricle into the general circulation, resulting in low blood pressure and result in hypotensive symptoms of dizziness and lightheadedness.
  1. Tachycardia
  • This could be a compensatory response to the low blood pressure.
  1. Murmur
  • Patients can present with stenotic murmur of the heart that is heard clearly on auscultation of the chest.
  1. Chest pain or discomfort
  • Angina or chest pain could be secondary to the reduced blood supply to the cardiac muscle, along with all the other vital organs of the body.
  • This is due to an overall reduction in the blood flow out of the heart.
  1. Weakness and fatigue
  • Reduced blood supply to the muscles can result in reduced oxygen supply to the muscle, thus leading to muscle pain, fatigue, and reduced endurance to activity.
