Patient was instructed on signs and symptoms of chronic bronchitis as follows:
- High fever
- Irritation in the throat
- Chest discomfort and difficulty breathing. This is due to the mucus trapped in the airways, thus compromising air transport and gas exchange.
- Productive cough with increased sputum production. The sputum can turn color from white to yellow green, which signifies an infection.
- Shaking chills
- Extreme shortness of breath
- Fatigue
