Patient was educated on the side effects of using Linagliptin as follows:
- Stomach upset
- Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are the most common side effects of using Linagliptin.
- Hypoglycemia
- Linagliptin can increase the action of incretins, contributing to increase in insulin secretion, thereby reducing the blood sugars.
- Linagliptin can sometimes result in episodes of serious hypoglycemia.
- Muscle pain
- Linagliptin can sometimes increase risk of muscle and skeletal pains and fatigue.
