Patient was educated on the side effects of using Hydralazine as follows:

  1. Symptoms of hypotension can occur secondary to arterial vasodilation. Accommodation of more blood in the arterial system can reduce blood supply to distant vital organs, such as, brain and result in symptoms such as, dizziness, headache, and feeling lightheaded.
  2. Patients can present with a rapid heart rate, as a compensatory measure for the reduced blood pressure.
  3. Increased blood flow out of the heart can result in increased capillary blood pressure and contribute towards development of peripheral edema, with consequent swelling of the extremities.
  4. Edema and fluid accumulation can result in weight gain and fatigue.
