Patient was educated on side effects of using Amiodarone as follows:
- Amiodarone can deposit in the skin leading to a bluish discoloration and can precipitate episodes of severe photosensitivity.
- Amiodarone deposition can also occur in the cornea and liver, especially with high doses and result in visual disturbances and alteration of liver functions with hepatitis.
- Amiodarone deposition can also occur in the thyroid gland, especially with high doses and can result in either hyper or hypothyroidism.
- Amiodarone use can cause edema and fluid accumulation, resulting in weight gain and fatigue.
