Patient/caregiver was instructed regarding side-effects to expect after receiving PCV13 pneumococcal vaccination as follows:
Administration of PCV13 shot can result in mild to moderate side-effects such as,
- Redness with soreness, pain, and swelling at the site of injection
- Muscle aches
- Headache
- Mild fever with chills
- Nausea & vomiting
- Exhaustion & tiredness
- Loss of appetite
- Dizziness & confusion, which can contribute to fall risk
Serious life-threatening side-effects or allergic reactions to this vaccine are quite rare.
