Patient/caregiver was instructed upon therapeutic uses of Serax as follows:
Anxiety
- By depressing the brain and spinal cord, serax promotes dizziness, reduces activity, and alertness. This can help to reduce excitability and relieve symptoms of anxiety in individuals with history.
Panic disorders and dysphoria
- By allaying the fears and calming down anxiety, serax can help with offering relief with panic disorders and dysphoric states.
- Serax can also be used to calm the anxiety associated with pre-menstrual syndrome.
Bipolar disorder
- Serax can be used along with antipsychotics, such as, clozapine and olanzapine, for management of mild agitation and anxiety symptoms in individuals with history of mania and bipolar illness.
