Patient was educated on rapid acting insulins as follows:
- This insulin begins to work in about 15 minutes after the shot was administered, peaks in about 1 hour, and continues to work for a duration of 2 to 4 hours.
- Examples of rapid acting insulins include Apidra, Humalog and Novolog.
- Humalog and Novolog are two diabetes medications. Humalog is the brand-name version of insulin Lispro, and Novolog is the brand-name version of insulin Aspart.
- These drugs both help control blood glucose (sugar) in people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
