Patient was educated on precautions to be exercised while taking Janumet as follows:

  1. Report any symptoms of stomach upset, such as, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and metallic taste in the mouth immediately to your doctor.
  2. Take weight reading at least twice a week and maintain a log of every reading for comparative feedback. Maintain an ideal weight for your height.
  3. Also, notify your doctor, if the blood sugar continues to be high, despite taking Janumet as recommended, so that, your medication dose could be revised.
  4. Be aware of any signs and symptoms of acute pancreatitis, such as, severe upper abdominal pain, radiating to the back, along with nausea and vomiting. This is a serious side effect of use of Janumet, that should be immediately reported to the physician.
