Patient was educated on importance of phosphorous in maintenance of bones as follows:
- Phosphorus is a mineral found in your bones. Calcium and phosphorus absorbed by the human body in a fine balance, from the food eaten, are needed to build strong bones and other skeletal structures of your body.
- If this balance is disturbed for any reason, such as, secondary to excessive phosphorus, the extra phosphorus will pull the calcium out of bones, thereby, making the skeletal structures weak.
- Weak bones can lead to pathological fractures in due course of time.
