Patient/caregiver was educated on the side-effects of using Requip as follows:

Cardiovascular side-effects

  1. Requip intake carries the risk of sudden lowering of blood pressure, thus increasing risk for fall or accident. Episodes of hypotension, especially with sudden change in positions, can lead to episodes of confusion and dizziness, thus contributing to compromised safety. Requip intake occasionally can also result in episodes of elevated blood pressure, headache, and vision changes.
  2. Requip carries the risk of altering the heart rate, causing and/or aggravating some underlying cardiac arrhythmias, thus leading to severe debility and death. Individuals can present with signs and symptoms of arrhythmias, such as, frequent episodes of fatigue, lightheadedness, near fainting, shortness of breath, chest pain or discomfort, and/or very low or rapid pounding irregular heartbeat.
