Therapeutic Uses of Calcitonin-2
Patient/caregiver was instructed upon therapeutic uses of calcitonin as follows: Hypercalcemia Severe hypercalcemia, secondary to osteoporosis, can result in severe bone pain and weakness. Elevated serum calcium levels, due to any reason, can contribute to severe side-effects of lethargy, depression, renal stone formation, palpitations, and life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias and so, must be treated in emergency.
