Veins

Patient was educated on veins as follows: Veins are blood vessels leading from various parts of the body to the heart. All veins with an exception of pulmonary veins, carry deoxygenated blood. Veins have thin non-elastic walls and pressure is low in the veins. Veins have valves, preventing reverse flow in the veins. Blood flows under low pressure in the veins.  

Nurse Teaching on Arteries

Patient was educated on arteries as follows: Arteries are blood vessels leading from the heart carrying oxygenated blood to various organs of the body. All arteries with an exception of pulmonary arteries, carry oxygenated blood. Arteries have thick muscular wall and pressure is high in the arteries. Arteries do not have valves. Blood flows under high pressure in the arteries.

Non-Heme Iron

Patient was educated on Non-Heme Iron as follows: Iron in the human body is available in two forms- Heme Iron and Non-Heme Iron. Non-Heme Iron Non-heme iron is present is abundance than heme iron.
