- Ceftriaxone is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against number of bacteria causing wide variety of infections.
- Ceftriaxone belongs to the group of Cephalosporin antibiotics.
- Ceftriaxone is a Beta-lactam antibiotic that acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
- Inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis by Ceftriaxone will kill the bacteria and inhibit further growth of bacteria.
- Ceftriaxone is an antibacterial agent and does not act against any viral infections.
