Patient was educated on Ceftriaxone and its mechanism of action as follows:

  1. Ceftriaxone is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against number of bacteria causing wide variety of infections.
  2. Ceftriaxone belongs to the group of Cephalosporin antibiotics.
  3. Ceftriaxone is a Beta-lactam antibiotic that acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
  4. Inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis by Ceftriaxone will kill the bacteria and inhibit further growth of bacteria.
  5. Ceftriaxone is an antibacterial agent and does not act against any viral infections.
