Patient was educated on some of the major causes which lead to the development of deep vein thrombosis as follows:
- Inherited Clotting Disorder
- Patients with some inherited clotting disorders can have thick blood, which makes them more prone for clot formation.
- Pregnancy and Obesity
- Pregnancy and obesity increase the pressure in the deep veins of the legs.
- This increased pressure in the deep veins will contribute to slowing of blood flow and consequent clot formation.
