Patient was educated on bacterial pneumonia as follows:

  1. Bacterial pneumonia is the most common and can affect people of any age group.
  2. This is the pneumonia for which vaccination is performed.
  3. Bacterial pneumonia can develop on its own or when the health status of any individual is compromised after a severe cold or flu infection.
  4. Though many bacteria can cause pneumonia, the most common cause of bacterial pneumonia is Streptococcus pneumoniae.
  5. Bacterial pneumonia usually causes a very severe infection and can result in prolonged illness and fatality, if not promptly attended to.
