Patient was instructed regarding anticoagulant use as follows:
- Do not change your dose of medication unless recommended by your physician.
- Observe strict compliance with the medication intake.
- Try taking the anticoagulant medication at the same time every day.
- Do not change your dietary patterns abruptly without consulting your physician.
- Do not consume alcohol, while you are taking the anticoagulant, as alcohol can increase the effects of blood thinner.
- Be cautious about taking OTC vitamin supplements, as they contain vitamin K and can decrease the effects of blood thinner.
- Exercise caution regarding preparations containing aspirin, as aspirin being an antiplatelet agent, can potentiate the effects of blood thinner.
