Patient was educated on acute renal failure as follows:

  1. Acute renal failure is a condition that arises from failure of kidneys that develops very rapidly in an individual.
  2. This condition evolves in a span of few hours to days.
  3. This condition leads to acute loss of kidney’s ability to eliminate excess water, electrolytes, and wastes from the body.
  4. Acute failure to eliminate excess water from the body leads to sudden buildup of fluid level in the body, leading to fluid overload and edema.
  5. Acute retention of electrolytes and waste materials can be toxic to the vital organs in the body and at times, can be life-threatening.
