Patient was educated on nebulizers and its uses as follows:

  1. A nebulizer is an apparatus that uses compressed air to turn liquid medication into a fine mist, which can be breathed in, using a mouthpiece.
  2. Different types of medications can be used in the nebulizer for inhalation, such as, bronchodilators and inhaled steroids.
  3. The mist is easier to inhale than an aerosol spray, especially during an episode of acute exacerbation of asthma, with the airways collapsed.
  4. Nebulizer mist is easier to inhale also in individuals who are incapacitated and cannot make any additional effort to take deep breaths.
