Patient was educated on the precautions to be observed while taking Marbaxin as follows:

  1. Marbaxin use can result in episodes of headache, confusion, dizziness, and light-headedness, thus contributing to increased risk for falls and accidents. This risk with marbaxin can be even high when it is taken in high doses or along with any other products and medications causing central nervous system (brain) depression, such as, alcohol, opioid pain medications, antidepressants, antianxiety medications, & sedatives and so, must be avoided. Watching closely for therapeutic response, gradually changing the dose to help optimum control of your symptoms, and avoiding taking it with medications and products causing dizziness can contribute to controlling/reducing the risk for drowsiness due to the medication. Try spacing them out accordingly, in order to prevent episodes of confusion and dizziness. Stay away from activities requiring alertness, such as, driving and operating heavy machinery, until you are used to the side effects caused by Marbaxin.
  2. Discuss with your physician regarding your history of hypotension and bradycardia, if any. Marbaxin has the potential to cause or enhance the likelihood for low blood pressure and reduced heart rate, which can sometimes be life-threatening. This risk with marbaxin can be even high when it is taken in high doses or along with any other products and medications causing low blood pressure, such as, antihypertensive medications. Discuss with your physician regarding all your other medications and their risk of causing/aggravating risk for hypotensive and bradycardia episodes. Try spacing them out to prevent exacerbation of hypotensive episodes. Report any episodes of increased dizziness, syncope, and loss of consciousness while taking Marbaxin.
  3. Marbaxin could potentially interact with a lot of other medications and precipitate serious reactions. If you are being newly started on marbaxin, discuss with your physician regarding all your current medications and their safety with marbaxin. Also, notify your physician regarding any current marbaxin intake, if you are being started on any new medications and discuss their safety with marbaxin.
