Patient/caregiver was educated on measures for managing side effects of Ozempic use as follows:

  1. Frequent presentation with hypoglycemic symptoms and other serious side-effects discussed above should be notified to the physician for appropriate intervention.
  2. Measures can be implemented to manage the less severe side-effects involving the gastrointestinal system. Eating slowly and in smaller portions can help reduce the severity of abdominal discomfort with Ozempic use. This can also help with better control of blood sugar numbers.
  3. Avoid eating close to bedtime and maintain an upright posture for at least 2-3 hours after meal, before going to bed.
  4. Observe compliance with daily fluid volume intake recommendations.
  5. Avoiding or observing moderation with some food types listed below can help offer relief with the abdominal side-effects of Ozempic use.
  6. Whole milk and whole fat dairy products, such as whole fat yogurt, whole fat butter milk, and full-fat cheese.
  7. Extremely greasy foods, such as curries, pastas with heavy cream, foods containing butter, margarine, coconut milk, excessive oils, cream cheeses, and nut butter.
  8. Fried foods, such as, French fries, potato chips, fried vegetables, fried meat, fried eggs, and fried fish.
  9. Cream-filled candies, whole fat ice creams, cakes, cookies, and desserts with chocolate frosting.
  10. Dark chocolate and chocolate drinks, such as chocolate milk and shakes.
  11. Caffeinated drinks, such as coffee and dark sodas.
  12. Alcoholic beverages.
