Patient/caregiver was instructed upon therapeutic uses of loratadine as follows:
Seasonal allergies
- Individuals can present with rhinitis and burning sensation of eyes, secondary to hay fever and activation of allergies during the pollen season.
- Individuals can also present with these symptoms, secondary to exposure to dust and various chemicals, due to change in the living environment.
- Loratadine use helps with calming down of these symptoms and offers relief from dust and seasonal allergies.
Skin allergies and anaphylaxis
- Individuals can present with symptoms of skin allergies and anaphylaxis, secondary to use of some food or drugs to which one is allergic.
- Individuals can also present with skin allergy and anaphylactic response, secondary to blood and plasma infusions.
- Symptoms include skin rashes, irritation and intense itching, hives, nausea and vomiting, hypotension, and difficulty breathing.
- Loratadine administered with adrenaline can help controlling and offering relief from these symptoms of acute allergic and anaphylactic response.
