Patient was educated on lifestyle modifications for peptic ulcers as follows:

  1. Incorporate probiotic foods, such as, yogurt and aged cheese in your diet.
  2. Avoid eating undercooked meat and uncooked raw vegetables, as they might lead to infection with H. pylori and aggravation of symptoms of peptic ulcer.
  3. Avoid consumption of tobacco and alcohol products. Tobacco and alcohol products can cause damage to the inner lining of the stomach and intestines and lead to ulcer formation.
  4. Maintain a regular exercise schedule to manage stress, as stress is an aggravating factor for peptic ulcer.
  5. Getting good sleep time and feeling rested will also manage stress levels better. Having an eight hour sleep every day can help promote immunity and ulcer healing.
