Patient was educated on the instructions to be followed for the appointment before the pacemaker surgery as follows:
- Check with your doctor regarding the material used during the surgery, such as, anesthetic agents, antibiotics, pain killers, latex, and tape. Notify your doctor, if you are allergic to the materials planned for the surgery.
- Pregnant and breast feeding female should notify the doctor on the same before the procedure.
- Read the consent form carefully and seek appropriate clarification from your doctor if needed.
- Notify your doctor of all your health conditions and seek clarification regarding your safety with the planned procedure.
- Notify your doctor of all your medications along with the supplements and seek for any changes to be made, in the wake of the planned procedure.
- Notify the doctor if you have any history of clot formation or bleeding disorder.
- If you currently are taking an anticoagulant every day, be sure to check with your doctor about the discontinuation of this medication before the procedure.
