Patient was educated on picking low sodium foods as follows:

  1. Selecting foods that are low in sodium and with reduced sodium.
  2. Look for sodium per each serving.
  3. Any food that contains less than 5 mg per serving is considered sodium free.
  4. Any food that contains 35 mg and less of sodium per serving is considered very low sodium food.
  5. Any food that contains about 140 mg of sodium per serving is considered low sodium.
  6. Any food that contains less than 5 mg per serving is considered sodium free.
  7. Foods that have no added salt will have this mentioned on the label.
