Patient/caregiver was educated on guidelines for quarantine for COVID-19 as follows:

  1. Upon testing of an individual who came into close contact with someone having an active COVID infection, if the test yields a positive response, the individual’s status will change from quarantine to isolation and will be dealt further according to the guidelines for isolation.
  2. Upon testing of an individual who came into close contact with someone having an active COVID infection, if the test yields a negative response and the individual stays asymptomatic throughout, quarantine could end after day 7, starting from the day of contact.
  3. Upon testing of a symptomatic individual, even if the test yields a negative response, quarantine should continue until day 14, starting from the day of contact. Quarantine could end after day 14, if the symptoms resolve. Quarantine could continue longer, and a second test could be needed if symptoms do not resolve after day 14. Consult your physician and other medical personnel in this situation before you end the quarantine period.
