Patient was educated on Glynase and its mechanism of action as follows:

  1. Glynase is an oral antidiabetic drug, used in patients with type-2 diabetes.
  2. Glynase acts by stimulating release of more insulin from the Beta-cells of islets of pancreas.
  3. Glynase is mostly used in individuals with reduced insulin secretion and in individuals who are resistant to the amount of insulin they are currently producing.
  4. Increased insulin secretion by Glynase will lead to lowering of blood glucose concentrations.
  5. Control of blood sugars over time with Glynase also results in lowering of hemoglobin A1c, which is an indicator of blood glucose control over the past 2 to 3 months.
