Patient was educated on management measures for orthostatic hypotension as follows:

  1. Elevate head of the bed to 20 degrees, to prevent significant drop in blood pressure during a position change.
  2. Individuals with history of congestive heart failure, bradycardia, and episodes of myocardial infarction must be compliant with their medication intake, to prevent progression or deterioration of their health condition. Any exacerbation of episodes of dizziness and confusion, secondary to change in position should be promptly reported, so that, your physician could change the dose of medications appropriately.
  3. Individuals with history of diabetes must observe compliance with dietary limitations, medication intake, and maintain control on blood sugar readings. Poorly controlled blood sugars can contribute to neuropathy and result in poor autonomic compensatory responses to sudden position change.
