Patient/caregiver was educated on findings to report to your physician regarding COVID-19 as follows:

 

  • Many people infected with the virus experienced mild to moderate respiratory illness and recovered without needing to be hospitalized and undergoing any special treatments.
  • Some infected people experienced severe acute respiratory illness and consequent complications, necessitating hospitalization, oxygen supplementation, IV antibiotics, and other needed specialized treatments.
  • Individuals with suspected or established COVID-19 infection must report to the physician and/or seek emergency advice upon presentation with any of the following symptoms:
  1. Trouble breathing or worsening shortness of breath
  2. Persistent pressure/discomfort/pain in the chest
  3. Acutely increased fluid retention in the body with abrupt weight gain
  4. Worsening pedal edema
  5. Persistent dizziness
  6. Acutely reduced urine volume
  7. Progressively deteriorating confusion
  8. Clouding of consciousness with inability to wake-up or stay awake
  9. Pale/bluish discoloration of skin, nailbeds, lips, and oral mucosa
