Patient/caregiver was instructed upon therapeutic uses of Endep as follows:
Bed-wetting in children
- Action of the neurochemical acetylcholine on the smooth muscle of bladder results in contraction of bladder, bladder emptying, and urination.
- Endep reportedly inhibits the action of acetylcholine on the bladder and thus, inhibits bladder emptying.
- This action of Endep helps with preventing/reducing episodes of nocturnal urination and bed-wetting in children.
Bipolar disorder
- Endep can be used along with other antipsychotics for management of symptoms of bipolar disorder.
Sleep disorders
- By providing relief from anxiety and promoting relaxation, Endep helps with improving the sleep patterns and so, can be used to promote sleep, in individuals with history of insomnia and difficulty falling sleep.
