Patient/caregiver was instructed upon therapeutic uses of Elavil as follows:

Panic disorders and anxiety

• Inhibition of serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake with Elavil contributes to improved relaxation, promotion of feelings of contentment, and stabilization of mood with allaying of unrealistic fears.
• So, Elavil can be used for mood enhancement, management and relief of agitation during states of panic, phobia, and anxiety.

Neuropathy and migraine

• Elavil, by unknown mechanism of action, helps control nerve pain and migraine headaches.
• Elavil is used to control the neuropathic pain associated with shingles, poorly managed diabetes, and fibromyalgia.
• Also, Elavil is used to control the exacerbation of episodes of headache, in individuals with history of migraine.
