Patient was educated on the diabetes and types of diabetes as follows:

1. Diabetes occurs due to an inappropriate balance between the demand and production of the hormone insulin.
2. There are 2 types of diabetes: Type 1 and Type 2.

• Type 1 diabetes is due to lack or undersupply of the hormone insulin. So, this condition needs to be treated with insulin supplementation.
• Type 2 diabetes is due to resistance the body develops for the insulin available. In Type 2 diabetes, insulin hormone is available, but unable to function.
