Patient was educated on contraindications to be exercised while using Dulera as follows:

  1. Hypertension
  • Dulera should be used cautiously in hypertensive patients, as steroid in Dulera can result in retention of sodium and water, which contributes towards elevated blood pressures.
  • Maintain a log of everyday blood pressure readings and report any gross elevations in the readings to your physician.
  1. Congestive heart failure
  • Dulera should be used cautiously in individuals with congestive heart failure, as steroid in Dulera can result in retention of sodium and water, which adds extra load to an already failing heart.
  • This can result in unresolved edema and worsening symptoms of heart failure, such as, exacerbation of shortness of breath.
  • Any such findings should be reported to the physician, to facilitate a change in the plan of care.
