Individuals with history of chronic disturbance in serum magnesium and potassium ions are at increased risk for arrhythmias. Also, individuals taking Lasix are at increased risk for losing potassium, thus setting the ground for life-threatening arrhythmias, upon taking Cefotaxime.
- Watch for symptoms of worsening peripheral neuropathy, such as, increasing pain and numbness, tingling, and burning sensations in the extremities. Report such findings to your doctor immediately for a change in infection control plan to be considered. Cefotaxime should be discontinued and report to the physician for any occurrences of seizures
