Patient was educated on contraindications for using Avandamet as follows:
- Avandamet is also known to increase the risk for heart failure significantly and so, is contraindicated in individuals with history of heart disease and compromised cardiac function.
- Avandamet is known to increase the risk for osteoporosis and so, is contraindicated in individuals with risk for osteoporosis, such as, females in menopause.
- Avoid using Avandamet in patients with history of metabolic acidosis with symptoms like rapid breath and heart rate, confusion, and stomach upset with nausea and vomiting.
