Patient was educated on contraindications for using Actoplus Met as follows:
- Actoplus Met is known to increase the risk for osteoporosis and so, is contraindicated in individuals with risk for osteoporosis, such as, females in menopause.
- Avoid using Actoplus Met along with alcohol. This can increase the risk of stomach upset with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
- Avoid using Actoplus Met in patients with history of metabolic acidosis with symptoms like rapid breath and heart rate, confusion, and stomach upset with nausea and vomiting.
