Patient was educated on contraindications for taking Repaglinide as follows:

  1. Repaglinide is mainly metabolized in the liver. If liver function is deficient, the metabolism of these medications can suffer. This can lead to increased blood levels of the medication for longer periods of time, resulting in toxicity and severe side effects. So, these medications should be used with caution in individuals with hepatic dysfunction.
  2. Repaglinide is mainly excreted in the bile. Individuals with biliary disease cannot excrete this medication normally. Repaglinide can stay in circulation for longer time and can be toxic in such individuals. So, this medication should be used with caution in individuals with biliary disease.
  3. Repaglinide is contraindicated in individuals with history of seizures, as it carries risk of inducing seizures.
