Patient/caregiver was educated on signs and symptoms of contact eczema as follows:

  1. Individuals can also present with small blisters on the affected skin, which can burst open leaking fluid, leaving sore skin. Also, the persistent itching and scratching can leave the skin raw and sensitive.
  2. Itching with contact eczema can continue for two to four weeks, until the blisters stop oozing & sore skin stops itching and improves on discontinuing contact with the trigger.
  3. Chronic recurrent activation of contact eczema episodes from repeated exposure to the triggers can leave the skin swollen from inflammation and extremely dry, cracked, and scaly.
  4. Avoiding contact with the triggering agent is the best measure to prevent activation of an episode and ease symptoms during a flare-up.
