Patient was educated on sources of unhealthy fats as follows:
- Fats are derived from both vegetable and animal/meat sources and form one of the main elements of healthy diet.
- While making choices for fatty foods, it is important to avoid foods high in saturated and unhealthy fats.
- More saturated fats and high cholesterol foods in diet are high risk factors for HTN, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and stroke and so, are associated with poor health.
- Saturated and unhealthy fats are high in meat and animal products and comparatively low in vegetable sources.
- Vegetable sources for saturated and unhealthy fats include coconut oil, coconut milk, palm oil, margarine, and cocoa butter.
