Patient was educated on measures to follow for low fat diet  as follows:

  1. Pay close attention to food labels. Focus upon choosing foods low in saturated fat and trans fats.
  2. Choose low fat (1% or 2% fat) or fat free alternatives on milk and milk products, such as, yogurt and butter milk, versus whole milk, whole fat yogurt, and whole fat butter milk. Choosing skim milk against regular full fat creamer or whole milk can also help consumption of saturated fat to some extent.
  3. Choosing cottage cheese or low-fat cheese over regular cheese can help with cutting down on consumption of unhealthy fat.
  4. Choose almond milk or soymilk versus regular milk can help extra limitation on unhealthy fat consumption.
  5. Using cooking sprays versus oil, butter, or margarine can help with lowering consumption of unhealthy fats during cooking. Also, using a nonstick pan can help reduce adding additional oil and fats during cooking.
  6. Increase consumption of nuts and seeds, such as walnuts, pistachios, almonds, peanuts, hazelnuts, pecans, cashews, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds, as these food sources are rich in unsaturated and healthy fats.
